Effective workplace communication is vital to creating and maintaining a positive and productive work environment. All of us can improve our communication by being more aware of not only what we say but how we say it.  Communication is reflexive and not always easy to change embedded habits. However, with diligent effort and purposefulness, communication skills can be improved. 

Great leaders and highly respected individuals speak with humility, curiosity, and courage. They are not afraid to have difficult conversations, but they do it will calmness and respect. They are confident but not arrogant and deeply listen and empathize with others.  Every organization has its unique challenges.  When a company is running at a fast pace, communication can easily break down. 

We will discuss simple, yet important ways to establish and maintain open communication channels to foster engaging workplace culture which will ultimately drive success for the business.

About our Speaker:

Shawna Whitlock is a Human Resources and Labor Relations professional with over 30 years of experience supporting sales, manufacturing, delivery, media, and content creation disciplines.  She has partnered collaboratively with business leaders at all levels as the HR subject matter expert to deliver strategic solutions aligning HR platforms with business initiatives and employee engagement.  Known as a trusted leader with excellent written and verbal communication skills, she is committed to successful business operations through maximizing the employee experience.  Shawna received her law degree from Western Reserve School of Law.
