3 Easy Ways to Love the Way You Look in Photos
When clients call to schedule a portrait session with Katie Garlock, they generally start by saying they hate having their portraits made.
This has always been the case, but especially now, in the age of Instagram artificial perfection.
She tells them her mission in life is to change their minds, and show them it can be fun. They can love their photos, no matter who takes them. And still look like themselves, not a fuzzy collection of filters.
During our time together she will answer the three questions every client asks her:
#1 What should I wear? How to find your most flattering look.
#2 How should I pose? Simple poses that are easy to do and look comfortable.
#3 How can I look natural? How to relax and be yourself.
Now, these answers are different for everyone, so bring your cell phone and we'll do a quick "Selfie Academy" to show you how to find your best colors, styles and poses.
Dress up, bring a friend, and get ready to have some fun.

About our Speaker:
Katie Garlock has been a professional photographer for over 40 years, with studios in Lima, Washington DC and now here in Cleveland.
Her work has taken her from weddings, soccer leagues and the towers of the oil refinery in Lima, to portraits in our nation's Capitol. Including actually saying, "Excuse me, Mr. President, may I get a photo with you and Ms.XXX (my client who was giving the party for the President's daughter.)
After all this time she still loves going to work, and loves her clients.
Now living in Westlake, to be closer to family, Katie 'unretired' and currently works part time from her studio there. She recently had a portrait exhibit at the Westlake Community Services Center , celebrating women between the ages of 68-109, who are not interested in becoming 'invisible old ladies.'
